Growing up in Castro Valley, Aaron attended Castro Valley High School. During his 1995 senior year, he earned the league's Triple Crown and Most Valuable Player distinction and was drafted by the Houston Astros. Aaron decided to continue his baseball career with a local Junior College where he was selected as a 1st team All American and lead the state of California in RBI’s
Later that year, Aaron signed with the Houston Astros. During his 11 year professional career with the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies, Aaron achieved individual honors of multiple All-Star selections, best defensive first baseman 3 years in a row and the league’s Most Valuable Player award in 1999.
Coach McNeal received numerous All Star selections during his career, gold gloves for his defensive prowess and was named MVP of the Midwest League after leading the league in home-runs and runs batted in.
Aaron has always had a passion for developing youth of all ages and has continued that focus for the past 17 years as a private batting instructor. In addition, he serves as the Senior Pastor at The Tabernacle Church. Aaron and his wife Mia live in Dublin with their sons Josiah and Elijah and daughter Sarai.
